The original spring concert, to be performed on May 9, was to be a celebration of our earth and role in its care. But the overall message speaks to how truly connected we all are - a message now more poignant than ever with our feelings of isolation and grief with the tragic losses we have suffered. This shortened version will feature 3 virtual choir songs, thoughts from the singers, and a few surprises. It is a chance for the choirs to share some of the beautiful music that speaks to our connection as a global community. It will lift us up, allow us to reflect, and make us smile!
The AVHC, an organization offering top-notch music education in our valley for over 30 years, now finds itself in the company of many arts organizations across the country that are under financial strain and further questions abound regarding the immediate future of singing together. Please support the choir by purchasing a “non-ticket” for this virtual event by making a charitable donation via our CanadaHelps page. www.canadahelps.org Proceeds from donations will go to supporting the choir’s programs and to increasing our bursary fund for singers - especially those affected by COVID-19 pandemic. Please consider giving the gift of music education and a life-long love of singing so we can emerge strong and continue on where we left off when it is safe to do so.
The arts have risen to the forefront during this pandemic, and we recognize how important they are to our culture, livelihood, society, and our happiness. Our isolation has made us realize how special our choir family time together really is – and in no way does this even come close to the feeling we get from singing together and offering you a live performance – but it is what we can offer you now, and we hope you will offer us your support.
