The Annapolis Valley Honour Choir, showcasing the vibrant voices of almost 200 young singers, launches an exciting rebrand as part of their annual winter concert, “It Feels New”, on Saturday, December 7 & Sunday December 8 at Horton High Performance Centre.
A blanket of fresh snow sets the stage for magic. Pristine, sparkling white - a blank canvas on which to hope, dream and start anew. The choir is thrilled to announce that in these performances, they will share their new name and logo. “It Feels New” marks a new beginning for the AVHC, while celebrating the history, memories and impact the choir has made to the cultural fabric of the valley for over 35 years.
Join all four choirs in this special occasion that will bring connection and joy to your holiday spirit. The choirs will sing some of our favourite songs from over the years, bridging a rich past and a bright future. Songs that connect us to place. Songs that light a hopeful spark as we see the ripples of positive impact these young people have in our communities. Songs that express the warmth and joy we feel when we’re together.
This concert will also be the exciting winter debut of the new “Kids” choir for Grades 2-3 singers. (performing in the afternoon shows only). And don’t forget our incredible bake sale where you can pick up all kinds of holiday goodies!
Heather Fraser, Artistic Director, will lead the choirs alongside Alana MacPhee, with pianists Kimberly Cormier, Victoria Dunn and Cian McCarron, and percussionist Tyler MacDonald.
“It Feels New”, will be held Saturday, December 7, 2:00pm & 7:00pm, and Sunday December 8, 2:00pm at the Horton High School Performance Centre.
Tickets: $25 (adults) and $5 (students). $15 for Livestream. Available online at www.avhc.ca or at the door if available. (This concert always sells out, so get your tickets early!)
