Final Concert of the Season for the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir:
How Can We Keep From Singing?
On Saturday, May 14th, the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir invites you to join us for the final concert of yet another wonderful season of song.
“How Can We Keep From Singing?” takes place at the Wolfville Baptist Church at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7:00 pm). The concert will feature both junior and senior choirs, as well as AVHC alumni, parents and our 2016 graduates.
The word that best describes this concert is COLOURFUL. This upbeat and inspiring concert will include a diverse mix of songs that together portray how important music is in all aspects of our lives. The concert will present songs of the earth, songs of love, songs of support, songs of culture, and songs of leaving. From First Nations chants, to folk songs from around the world, our performances will include music we learned in Cuba, and popular songs from Owl City and Pentatonix. Even the Muppets will make a guest appearance!
This special concert will be Conductor Heather Fraser’s last performance before she heads out on a sabbatical year to continue her choral music studies. Heather will travel across Canada working with some of our country’s leading choral conductors and will return to her AVHC family in the fall of 2017 with new ideas and techniques that will contribute to the ongoing growth and development of our choirs.
As this is AVHC’s last concert with Heather at the helm, we expect tickets to go fast. Advanced tickets are available at all Ticketpro outlets ($15 for adults and $5 for students or children, plus Ticketpro service fees) or at the door, if available ($20 for adults and $10 for students or children).
Order online through either the AVHC website (www.avhc.ca) or at Ticketpro (www.ticketpro.ca), by phone at 1-888-311-9090, or at all Ticketpro locations in Atlantic Canada.
